Spencer’s Family Event

My family event always has the most delicious family secret cooking I have ever eaten and small talk. The food, and there is quite a lot of it, is always like an explosion of flavors in my mouth year after year. The smells of roasted turkey seeping out of the oven, tantalizing all noses around. Before the turkey is taken out, everybody is served a cool glass of ice tea that is a delicacy to anybody of the sorts. The tea is like sweet icecream sliding down my throat.
The small talk at my family event can be quite interesting. No one knows what the main talk will center on because most of my family lives far away from each other. What is most talked about is probably past events that had happened in the summer before. In these kinds of conversations, you cannot pry your ears away from the babble of voices coming from the people you love.
Another fun thing about my family event is opening presents from others. The fun part about this activity is guiding your hands to the gift and delicately moving your fingers around corners and sides to try and guess what the wrapping paper holds inside. No one is aloud to say a word about what gift they have brought to this get-together. My family is growing by the years and hopes to stay that way for quite a while like a colony of ants. When it is all over, everybody is a little sad, but we were all happy that we got to see each other, recognizing every little detail they have upon their face.
